Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars
Ingredients:
120g oats
8 tbsp peanut butter
5 tbsp honey
1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
4 scoops chocolate whey protein
100ml milk of choice
70g dark chocolate (>75% cocoa)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Method:
1. Heat the peanut butter, coconut oil, honey and vanilla essence in a pot until melted and well mixed
2. Add the oats and protein powder to a large bowl
3. When the peanut butter, coconut oil, honey and vanilla essence are melted, add them to the dry ingredients and mix
4. Add the milk in stages and mix until it forms a dough
5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish lined with non-stick paper
6. Press down and compact the mixture with the back of a spoon until evenly packed into desired thickness
7. Melt the dark chocolate in 20-second increments in the microwave, stirring to encourage melting
8. Pour over the mixture, tilting the dish to ensure an even layer
9. Place in the freezer for about 2 hours
10. Remove from the freezer and cut into 8-10 even bars
11. Put on the kettle
